About Kalvad
Kalvad exists because good engineering should produce software that remains reliable, maintainable, and understandable for years. We design and build systems for organizations operating at scale, where clarity and longevity matter more than short-term fixes.

Our Story
Kalvad was founded in 2019 by two engineers who believed that software should be built to last. Pierre Guillemot and Loïc Tosser had worked across Europe, Asia, and the Middle East, and they saw the same pattern repeatedly: systems delivered quickly but designed poorly, creating technical debt that compounded over years.
They started Kalvad in Dubai with a clear focus: build systems that remain reliable, maintainable, and understandable long after the initial delivery. The first project was a public-sector platform in the UAE, where security, compliance, and operational continuity were non-negotiable. That project set the standard for everything that followed.
The company grew naturally, through referrals and repeat engagements with organizations that valued engineering quality. Today, Kalvad has a 30-person team in Dubai, serves over 100 clients internationally, and actively contributes to the open-source projects we rely on. Our work spans from early technical design to long-term operation, and we remain hands-on engineers first.

Kalvad's Founders

Pierre Guillemot - CEO
Pierre is the co-founder and CEO of Kalvad. He leads partnerships, training initiatives, product development, and Kalvad's participation in industry events and conferences.
With academic training in software engineering across Europe and Asia, including degrees from Ireland, France, and China, Pierre began his career as a software engineer at the Chinese Academy of Sciences in Beijing. He later worked across Europe before relocating to Dubai, where he co-founded Kalvad in 2019.
With over a decade of experience, Pierre has a strong background in scalable system architectures, data platforms, and IoT systems. His work focuses on building long-term technology partnerships and ensuring that Kalvad's products and services remain grounded in real-world engineering constraints.
Pierre believes that sustainable engineering comes from understanding the full lifecycle of a system, not just the parts that are visible at launch.
Loïc Tosser - CTO
Loïc is the co-founder and CTO of Kalvad, leading engineering strategy, research and development, and long-term technical architecture across client projects and internal platforms.
He is a senior system engineer with deep expertise in infrastructure, security, automation, and data streaming systems. After graduating from one of Europe's leading computer science institutions, Loïc began his international career through an exchange program at a major telecommunications university in Russia, before relocating to the United Arab Emirates.
Prior to and alongside Kalvad, Loïc has held CTO roles for startups and public-sector organizations in the UAE. His work focuses on designing and operating large-scale, high-availability systems, with a strong emphasis on reliability, security, and operational efficiency.
Loïc approaches engineering as a discipline where simplicity and rigor compound over time, and where the best systems are those you can trust without thinking about them.
